Meteor Mobile has been Experience IT’s exclusive customer since mid-2005. Meteor is Ireland’s fastest growing mobile provider. When we first engaged with meteor - they had just crossed the 250,000 customer mark. We enjoyed the Millionth Customer celebrations recently. 4X growth in just over 3 years.
During our 3+ year association with meteor we have designed and developed a variety of important systems.
The Commissions Handling System tracks all Bill Pay activations and upgrades and pays commissions and subsidies each month to the various sales channels. The Prepaid Upgrade and Bill Pay Upgrade projects delivered the ability to offer meteor’s fast-growing base the latest handsets and to reward long-standing customers with customer retention bonuses such as free credits and promotions. Both systems were developed to tight deadlines and went live on-schedule with remarkably few defects/issues.
Experience IT also worked to improve the Phased Credits System. This recurring recharges platform is the principal customer promotion for Prepaid subscribers and is applied to 500k+ subscribers each month. Experience IT’s work assisted in streamlining and implementing various revenue assurance measures and guaranteeing that the credits would be issued on a specific date each month; resulting in increasing subscriber satisfaction and reducing customer care calls. This enabled a subsequent “topup-dependent” initiative which increased drives airtime revenues.
Perhaps the most interesting area of work with meteor has been the development of the Credit Vetting System. This is a fraud management and credit risk mitigation solution which acts as a ‘plug-in’ to the MDS CRM (customer acquisition/sign-up) system. New Bill Pay applicants are credit scored and ‘vetted’ before sign-up is approved. This system has succeeded in reducing fraud/bad debt by as much as 75% which is a very significant saving for the business.
